Podcast Series

Oregon Healthy Workforce Center (OHWC) and Oregon Institute of Occupational Health Sciences at OHSU is launching a podcast series geared toward highlighting the ways in which work can affect our overall safety, health and well-being. The podcast will share scientific findings around important topics like sleep, sitting, job stress, and how the work environment can impact our health, well-being, productivity. What's work got to do with it? will feature faculty and staff, as well as community members, and industry professionals to dive to discuss public health significance of occupational health and make science accessible for all through sharing of basic and applied science.

Workplace Aggression: Best Practices to Prevent, Identify, and Safely Mitigate Aggressive Behavior and Violence

This course focused on the general principles to prevent, identify, mitigate, and manage violence, aggression, and bullying in the workplace. The intent is to discuss job and industry risk factors of workplace aggression, and to provide guidance for workplaces. Participants will be able to demonstrate an ability to identify the risk factors associated with workplace aggression and learn about available resources supportive of safe practices. Although all industries and job types will benefit from the information provided in this symposium, case studies and examples will directly apply to health care, long term care, social services, education and schools, and isolated workers.
